Departmental performance on CO₂ emissions reduction to date

On 14 May the PM said that this was to be the greenest government ever and set the challenge of: reducing emissions from the government office estate by 10% in 12 months; and publishing on-line real time emissions data from 18 headquarter buildings. The Government currently spends around £95m a year on energy for its office estate, and so this work will realise significant financial savings. To date all departments have: Submitted their plans showing how they will reduce emissions Published on-line and in real time their energy usage data
